It’s in the mail
Yesterday I got home from work to find a large, padded envelope shoved through my door from the US. Hooray some Misti Alpaca to finish that hat I sort of forgot about. I had only requested a partial (perhaps a half) ball of yarn so I was really surprised to find nearly 1.5 balls of yarn in the envelope. It is in 3 half balls, but still! That’s quite a bit! I should have enough to finish my hat and do another one.
And today I got home and found another padded envelope shoved through my door. This one was also from the US, but small and definitely forced through the door. I thought “Hmm, what did I buy and forget about?”. But then I saw it was from my friend, A, who studies in Brussels, but is home visiting her parents right now. The customs tag declared it as candy so I thought it was something for Christmas that was just slow getting here.
I want to be surprised so I open the envelope so I can’t see the contents and pull out the enclosed card. The card said something about appreciating this cheese so I thought it was going to be some of that weird candy that was popular when I was a kid — you know, the bologna shaped chewing gum, or gum that looks like the ingredients of tacos. So I pull out an item and it is a tube of chapstick… Tootsie Roll flavoured. I figure this is what she’s referring to and chuckle. Then I pull out the big item in the envelope. And I laugh and laugh and laugh and don’t care how much it costs me to send text messages overseas. I send a message that says “LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL”. I almost never use LOL unless it is something seriously funny.
It is easily the funniest thing I have ever received in the post.
Oh hey, tell me I really shouldn’t subscribe to the Zen Garden semi-solid sock club for 3-months…
