And I’m off…

Okay in about 14 hours or so I’m off. I was feeling very rushed as I always do before I go away for more than a couple of days. I’ve only got the trash to take out and some dishes to do tonight so I can relax now. I was going to go to London tonight for a gig, but it would mean I’d get home about 1230/1 and then have to get back up at 630 in order to get showered and get to the airport for 9 and it was just feeling like too much so I’m skipping it. Boo.
I’m actually packed already which is completely amazing; I’m never packed this far in advance. I’ve even got plenty of knitting projects for the aeroplane (and a SASE in case they say I can’t take my needles). Trigger has already gone to the cattery so it’s just me and the humming of the fridge.
I’m into the decreases of The C so maybe I can knock out the rest tonight. I’m skipping unravelling all the dropped stitches at this stage because it’s a bit slow and fiddley since the yarn tends to cling to itself. I’m still trying to decide if I’ll be making myself one or not - perhaps a 2-skein version. Would be nice to have something to put over my shoulders when I sit up in bed and read… Hmmm.
Right now I’m going to go lie down because the running around at work this morning and rushing to get home so that I could get Trigger ready has left me with a massive headache. Later I’ll eat my fancy ready-meal from Tesco’s hahaha. Oh and in case you wondered, the pictures in the Knitting snobbery post were taken in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It’s the Millenium Bridge (not the one that was all wonky due to bad engineering, that one is in London) and The Sage (centre).
The picture above, in case you didn’t know, is Half Dome in Yosemite. I took it a couple years ago when I was there - it’s 3 or 4 hours from mi mama’s casa (I have to practice my spanglish).
I’m sure I’ll check in while I’m away.
PS — How come I never knew about this KnitMap thing?! I found two places I’m gonna go, but more importantly, why are most shops closed on Monday’s?!

Happy traveling! The Monday thing is a bit of Americana, I believe. Stores may be open one day on the weekend, but closed Monday to balance it out.
