Time for a rest
Phew, what a week. I was in an intensive train-the-trainer course all week. While it turned out not to require as much homework as I initially thought, it was still incredibly exhausting. It’s difficult not being in charge of your own time as in even though I go to work each day, I can get up and have lunch at 11 if I’m starving or run to the post office at 3 if I need to. Being in a classroom with 19 other students and a couple of tutors meant my time was well accounted for and for the most part, my breaks were rigidly controlled. It’s also not as easy to drift off in such a setting — especially because this was very interactive and every few minutes required discussion in small groups or role playing. It’s done, I met some great people, but Monday it’s back to the grind; hopefully I’ll be able to put to use some of what I learned.
I didn’t get any knitting done this week. I got a few rounds knitted on Charade no.2, but that’s it. By the time I got home each evening I was so tired that I pretty much went to bed after eating or whatever. It’s already 3.30 and I’ve managed to do two loads of laundry and have two naps. I’m just feeling too tired to do anything and I really need to do a few dishes, vacuum, and do a little bit of tidying up, but I really need to feel rested before I can do any of it!
I think I may try to sit here and do a bit of knitting while listening to some loud music.
Oh, the new Knitty… well, I actually like the look of several of the patterns. How many will I make? Only time will tell. The one’s I like: Henry, Tussie Mussie, Foliage (although it looks like a chunky version of Marnie’s Marigold that I knit this past spring), Totally autumn, Q, and Diamond waffle. The other socks are interesting because of the different constructions, but man do those Cinderella socks look thick and like they’ll make even my skinny ankles look elephantine. The Woodins are cute, but my anti-clutter mindset doesn’t really see the point in knitted “toys”. I mean, if it were toys for a child to play with that’s all well and good, but these are more decorative, you know? Oddly, marine-related “pointless” knits have some intrigue for me (e.g. Nautie).

I like a few of the sweaters on Knitty, but some of the other things don’t really appeal to me. I guess that’s good since my knitting time is limited!
Hope you get some rest soon.
