Utter sadness
At 1230 this morning I held Dakota has he took his last breath. I’m fucking devastated. I feel sick. I can’t eat. I have a headache to rival all headaches. I’ve pretty much done nothing, but cry since. It was completely unexpected and happened so fast that I know that he couldn’t have suffered for long.
If there ever was a cat that should’ve been cloned, Dakota was it.
RIP Baby cat.

I drop by your blog occasionally, and reading this, I couldn’t not post. Your post made me cry too - I know how devastating it is to lose a beloved cat or dog and can only sympathise with you. I’m glad that Dakota didn’t suffer.
I’m not religious at all, but I read somewhere that when you get to the afterlife, all the animals you’ve ever loved and lost come rushing up to welcome you. I don’t know whether or not there’s an afterlife, but that sounds like heaven to me. Take care.

Oh Shannon, I am so, so sorry. I know there is nothing I can say that will make you feel better. But know that I am thinking of you and sending hugs! I know I would react the same way and can only start to imagine how that would feel.

Shannon, I am so sorry for your loss. As a non-cat person, who has one, it is never easy to lose a friend like that. When we lost Rosie, even though I was convinced I would feel nothing, I sobbed with our youngest for an eternity. Hang in there.

Oh noooo. As soon as I read this, my chest knotted up. I don’t know what I’ll do without my two guys, who were both recently diagnosed with kidney failure. I know I only have a short time left with them. I can’t imagine how you feel right now . . but I know I will be there sooner rather than later. Dakota looks like he’s the cutest kitty ever. Awwww. :( After I hit the “submit” button I’m gonna get Mistie and Alex and show them his picture.

Shannon, I’m so sorry to hear about your lovely Dakota. Losing a fur-baby is never easy, and having it happen suddenly just makes it more devastating. Best wishes, Kathy
