Weather improving

IMG_9221 (Medium) I’m sure I’ve just jinxed us all. I apologise.

Yesterday I was in London for a work meeting and after it finished, I met up with The Boy as we were scheduled to go have drinks in… the Houses of Parliament. Yes. For reals. I don’t have any pictures so you’ll just have to take my word for it. He has a friend that works there and she invited us in. We got to go through a fancy employee entrance and see the guts on our way to the bar / cafeteria. We tried to sit on the back deck area, but it was reserved for very special people yesterday.

We had several hours to kill so we did A LOT of walking and sitting in parks. St James’s Park has lots of nice flower beds and I always get totally distracted by them ’cause I love me some macro flower pictures. Yesterday was no different. I sent The Boy off to find a bench where he could sit and read and I happily snapped away.

Dude why can't I ever remember flower names?

Pathetically I have not finished my Saucy sock. I did knit on it in two parks yesterday and it is so close to being done that it’s sad I haven’t got it there yet. It would be done if it weren’t for the fact that on Monday as I waited for the plumber to arrive I decided to make a pot of tea. The little Bodum tea pot my mom got me does not retain any heat so I decided right then I needed a felted tea cosy. I searched for some patterns, but I had something really specific in mind and none of the patterns quite fit that so off I went on my own. It came out pretty well really for me completely winging it. I only felted it tonight so it’s wet yet — once it’s done drying I’m sure it will oblige for some pictures.

Anyway, the weather in London yesterday was very nice. And this weekend we’re supposed to have nice weather too. I hope so ’cause I’d like to sit outside and sip some wine and knit.

Yup, saw none of those flowers last week . . . just the rain! Glad the weather has improved for you. My only time in St. James’s Park was particularly scary as I had to fend off a squirrel who followed me around trying to get an almond off the top of my croissant. Mind you, he actually reached out and snatched one off the top while I was getting up from my third bench. How rude! Off to finish the foot of sockapalooza sock two. August 2nd really can wait a bit, if you ask me!

i love the shot of the red flower you saw in the park. Drinks @ the House of Parliament! How cool is that. Hope you were able to finish your saucy..
