Slowing down
Not that I am or ever was a fast knitter, but I have to slow down and take it easy for a few days methinks. Last night as I worked on Ms Marigold (FINALLY joined it into the round), my wrist really began to feel inflamed. I took some ibuprofen and went to bed. I woke up this morning and it was still feeling rather achey. It normally “pops” with a lot of frequency anyway, but this was definitely feeling swollen. *sigh* I’ll see how I get on with some little needles and yarn on my still-in-progress Falling Leaves socks at lunch today.
I’ve got 11″ to knit in the round. Maybe 10″ since I didn’t measure last nights progress. It should go by pretty quickly, but then there is the ribbing around the bottom and a million stitches around the neck. Also, I need to learn how to do some crochet. I’ve got the needles hooks (inherited from grandma), but I’ve not a clue how to use them. When I have to pick up dropped stitches, I do it in a very fiddley way using a DPN! I just don’t know how to even hold the crochet hook. Anyway, yes, the arm holes have two rounds of single crochet and I really like the look of it so I want to do it.
My mom and sister are probably coming here in a months time. I’m waiting for the confirmed dates, but I’ll likely order quite a lot of yarn from KnitPicks - Elegance for a cardigan/shrug, the Merino style for a pullover sweater, and some of the Memories sock yarn. Part of me is actually tempted to buy the Palette sampler which is a ball of each of the 30 colours! I’d make a blanket from it… but I think my mom and sister would flip when 50 balls of yarn arrived at their house and they had to shove those into their suitcases. Oh, and I want to buy some Malabrigo - it’s just deciding what colour! I want to make a simple boatneck sweater… now to figure out how much yarn I’d need for that since I’m clueless there.
I have some nice pictures I took over the weekend, but forgot to upload them so I’ll add them later.

Blossoms in my boyfriends garden. I sat under them and knit. - A Gazebo at Cliveden - a National Heritage site.
Sorry the photos aren’t knitting related! Oh and my wrist felt okay after the 30 mins of sock knitting so tonight I think I’ll work on those and maybe finally get to the heel!

Do you know what the first plant/bush is? It looks like clematis but that is more of a vine than a bush.
Thank you for the photo of Cliveden. I am so jealous of the British gardens. We just don’t have that sort of history in the U.S. I’d love to do a tour of them one day.
